FatCats Paying it Forward

Throughout the years, FatCats has had many opportunities to engage and give back to members in our community.

In 2011 FatCats Provo held a AK10 fundraiser to help raise money for Alexis Kaufusi. Alexis played forward for the BYU women’s basketball team. She played a total of 20 games before being diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Mitch (FatCats Provo General Manager) & Alexis

FatCats is always looking to help members of our community. If you know of someone that is in need, please contact your local FatCats general manager.

Balladium! Are You Game?

One of the most exciting attractions at Fatcats Rexbrug is Balladium! It offers guests an experience similar to laser-tag. In a black-lit room painted with glow-in-the-dark paint, Balladium is a game in which the players can hit targets with small foam balls to earn points.

Each team has 4 targets to aim for above the heads of the opposing team. Although your team gets points for targets hit, it's a lot more fun to shoot each other. With five air-compressed cannons on each side of the room, participants can either play with teams or play one-on-one.

To begin, players scurry around their side of the room to gather up as many foam balls as possible. After they've collected their ammunition, cannons are loaded. Players simultaneously take aim at either the targets or each other and start shooting.

After shooting, players must quickly replenish their supply of foam balls without getting shot.

For only $3 per person a customer is able to play for five minutes of play. Five minutes may sound like a short game, but players are often tired by the end of the game. Both running and dodging are required in Balladium (if you want to win, of course!)
If you come with a larger group, you can pay $10 instead to rent the whole room for five minutes.  At Fatcats Rexburg, we love our students! Show your student ID to get a discount of $1.

Are you Ninja Enough? Laser Maze @ FatCats Westminster!

We’ve all seen the bank robberies in movies, but have you ever wondered if you have the ninja skills to do what they do in those movies? That is what the Laser Maze is all about. It’s a Mission Impossible type game where you must weave your way in and out of lasers on your way to three different checkpoints in the least amount of time. With four levels; easy, medium, hard, and expert (for seasoned ninjas), even the littlest ninja-in-training can have fun with this attraction. The Laser Maze at FatCats Westminster has a Vault theme in which it is set up like you’re robbing a bank vault with cameras, a money hologram, and a full bank vault atmosphere. You’re sure to have a blast!

The Laser Maze is often confused with Laser Tag, but this is a different beast. It’s an original arcade game that requires speed, athleticism, brawn, brains, and of course, ninja blood to complete without breaking a laser. Compete against your friends and everyone that has played for the entire month to get your name on the leader board. While your friends are going through the maze you can watch them on our big screen and see every move they make…or…try to make.

The average turn takes about thirty seconds to a minute to complete…obviously longer for the less seasoned ninjas and harder levels. You can play by the turn or rent the entire Laser Maze by the half hour or by the hour to really refine your ninja moves…and judge your friends lack of ninja-ness.

Get on the leader board and get a sticker highlighting your accomplishment to show off to all your friends. They’re sure to be jealous, but it’s not your fault…you were just born that awesome.

Play at your own risk…FatCats is not liable for you thinking you’re more ninja than you actually are, embarrassment, losing to your friends, losing to your girlfriend, bad scores due to ill advised back flips, or less than adequate gymnastics skills, so please, for your own sake, bring your skills and put your game face on because it’s sure to get intense!

Dating at FatCats 101

With all the benefits and knowledge learned at school, it lacks one thing… Dating Etiquette. Wouldn’t your social life be so much easier if all your classmates were on the same page for dating? We at FatCats have seen our fair share of awkward first dates.
Sharpen your #2 pencils & find a seat- Welcome to:

This course is short & simple. We guarantee if you follow our six golden rules your date will fall madly in love with you & you’ll both live  happily ever after ...

Well…maybe not BUT, if you want to be a good person and hopefully land a second date, keep on reading.

1. Show up. Does there need to be a description about this one? What’s your date supposed to do…bowl alone?

2. Be on time. Don’t keep your date waiting… make sure you plan ahead.

3. Hand & eye contact. We suggest high-fives for at least 4 bowling pins knocked down. Eye contact will show your date you are interested. Make him/her feel like they are the only person in FatCats.

4. Be courteous & complimentary. Carry your date’s bowling ball, hold their tickets from the arcade or let them tee-off first. They will see you are a genuine person. Use phrases, “good job!”, “way to go!”, and “nice one!” to encourage and make your date feel comfortable.

5. Dress well. No one wants to be with a slob (or clown!) Make special arrangements if coming to FatCats during Thunder Alley. Bowling in black light can enhance your outfit. You should plan on wearing bright colors for maximum effect.

6. Smell good. Taking a shower & putting on deodorant is preferable. While playing Glow Golf, the family on Hole 3 will be appreciative too. If you are a nervous sweater & your deodorant is fading, order food. It will come right to your lane! Your date will be so entranced by the delicious scents of pizza & nachos that they won’t notice you forgot to shower.

We hope these rules help you have the greatest date ever at FatCats!

We want to hear your best & worst date stories!! Comment or send story to social@fatcatsfun.com
Prizes will be awared!!!

Egg-Specially Fun Easter at FatCats

A date to remember! FatCats Rexburg is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt. Thousands of eggs filled with candy (all donated by Wal-Mart) will be hunted by children of all ages.

Date: April 7, 2012
Time: 9am-11am Easter Egg Hunt (divided into age groups)
11am-4pm photos with the Easter Bunny
where: FatCats in Rexburg, Idaho
475 North 2
nd E
Easter is just around the corner & it’s time to boil those eggs and decorate! For some it is a household tradition and others you might be trying this for the first time.
FatCats is all about family fun time & there’s nothing better than sitting around the kitchen table coloring Easter eggs. While the traditional colored tablets are fun, here are some new ideas your family can try!

Use crayons. After boiling your eggs let them cool for a few minutes. While the eggs are still warm hold an egg with a paper towel and use a crayon to color it. The heat of the egg will melt the wax, making fun designs. Crayons are less messy too!

Glitter eggs. We suggest using a blown egg (see instructions below). Dilute craft glue with equal parts water and glue and cover the egg. Roll it in superfine glitter and let it dry. Oh so pretty!

To blow out an egg, begin by using the tip of a sharp utility knife to pierce both ends of the egg; turn the knife in one of the holes to widen it slightly. Then, poke a straightened paper clip through the larger hole to pierce and “stir” the yolk. Hold the egg, larger hole down, over a bowl, and then blow the contents out with a rubber ear syringe (available at drugstores).marthastewart.com

Hard-boiled Eggs One of many ways to hard-boil eggs: Put eggs in a large pot, in a single layer and cover with COLD water. Turn on the heat under the eggs and as soon as they come to a full boil, remove them from the heat and let them sit in the hot water for about 15-20 minutes.

How to Host a Rockin' Super Bowl Party!

FatCats knows all about parties! Here's how to host a rockin' super bowl party!

Start early! Don’t leave everything for Sunday. Trying to fit shopping, grilling & cleaning the house in one day can make a person go crazy. Here is a simplified plan to get you started:

Friday-
~Plan your menu
~Go shopping

Saturday-
~Prepare dishes in advance
~Clean the house
~Double check all the details- make sure you have soap in the bathrooms, a designated coat area and enough drinks.

Sunday-
~Decorate the TV room with your team’s colors. If you have guests rooting for opposing teams, draw an imaginary line down the middle of the room & decorate Patriots on one side and Giants on the other.
~If needed, bake, grill or cook food
~Set out food

What to do with the kids?
If the kiddos aren’t too keen on football, throw them their own party. Stock another room with DVDs, games and treats.

Drinking at your party?
Offer a free pick-up and drop-off service. Remember, friends don’t let friends drive drunk!

How do you get lingering guests to leave your house?
~Turn off the TV
~Say, “It was so nice to have you over. We should do it again sometime.”
~Start cleaning up
~Ask if they need a ride home
If those things haven’t worked then you might as well pull out home videos, photo albums and drone on about your latest project at work.

Worried if you’re a good host? Here are some tips:
~Make sure you try to great each of your guests individually.
~Introduce your guests to each other. This will help shy people feel more comfortable
~Be completely ready 20 minutes before guests arrive. Chances are you’ll have a few early birds
~Give a tour of your home. Some guests may feel awkward asking to use the restroom so, avoid this with a tour.
~Ask for help. If you need assistance in the kitchen it is better to ask for help vs struggling by yourself.

Food you might need:
Cheese tray
Crackers
Soft drinks
Veggie Tray
Tray of cold cuts
6-foot sub sandwich
Chips
Snack dips
Football Field Cake (click here)
